A graphi-textual introduction into the new Fluid Simulator in Blender 2.40 . A great way to learn the basics of the simulator, before going on to the other (upcoming) more complex tutorials using the Simulator for a specific purpose. Intended for later release: a Fluid Sim Tutorial for Abstract Renders, and a Fluid Sim Animation Tutorial (knock on wood). As this is a fairly new feature, there is very little documentation such as tutorials for it, so this is the place to learn the basics before going into the specifics. Teaches the types/behaviors of the 5 Fluid Simulation Elements (Domain, Fluid, Inflow, Outflow, Obstacle) and how to texture, bake, and render fluid simulation outputs. Also explains how to optimize fluid simulations for the best looks without increasing resolution (and why to avoid increasing resolution anyway). For a true fluid-sim demonstration of the topics covered here and some others, see my deviation "Blender Fluids Demonstration" [link]

Thanks,
